Pair of Late 19th Century Terracotta Busts Featuring Orientalist Figures. The female wears a headscarf and a pearl necklace of which some of the beads are missing. The male wears a keffiyeh, a Middle Eastern headdress fashioned from a square scarf. Signed on the inside with the Goldscheider signature.

The Goldscheider Manufactory was founded by Friedrich Goldscheider in 1885 and became one of the most influential ceramic manufactories of terracotta, faience and bronze objects in Austria. They won a bronze medal for terracotta pieces at the International Exhibition, in Paris, France in 1889.
