An impressive cold painted Terracotta statues of a 19th century Arab soldier and young woman dressed in exquisite drapes by Friedrich Goldscheider, Austria.
In 1885, at forty years of age, Friedrich Goldscheider founded in Vienna 'Goldscheider'sche Porzellan-Manufaktur und Majolica-Fabrik'. The factory produced a wide variety of ceramics, ranging from faience kitchenware to luxurious porcelain objects. But it's the polychrome terracotta figures in particular that have established its reputation and fame.
